CoolSculpting is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to reduce fat in specific areas of the body. It utilizes a technique called cryolipolysis, which involves freezing and destroying fat cells. The procedure involves placing a device on the targeted area, such as the abdomen, thighs, or arms, which then delivers controlled cooling to freeze the underlying fat cells without harming the surrounding tissues.

During the treatment, the fat cells are exposed to extreme cold temperatures, causing them to crystallize and eventually die. Over time, the body naturally eliminates these dead fat cells through its metabolic processes.

The procedure is relatively quick, usually taking about 35-60 minutes per treatment area, and is performed in a medical office or specialized CoolSculpting clinic. While the results are not immediate, patients typically start noticing gradual fat reduction within a few weeks, with full results becoming apparent after a few months.

CoolSculpting is considered a safe and non-surgical alternative to liposuction, as it does not require incisions, anesthesia, or downtime.
